The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding
You, Mama, are your baby's best source of nutrition, health benefits: not to mention growth of His/Her emotional well-being.
I love how this book, with all of it's insights, answers and knowledge it does not boast of having all the answers, but suggests finding a local La Leche League group to get real support for your very real questions, fears and unnecessary worries involving your own breast feeding journey.
Other topics within the pages of this bible of breastfeeding include: preparing for breastfeeding during pregnancy, keeping your milk supply up, how breast feeding mothers can exercise and lose weight safely, how to pump and store your breast milk and so much more!
It's especially encouraging to read all the success stories woven throughout this book! Breast is best!
This may be a rather large book for a busy mama (400 plus pages of absolutely great knowledge), but if you can't find the time to read the whole thing, I'd suggest trying to skim the bits you and your spouse are most worried about or questioning! And if you need something to do while you kick up your feet and drink that quart of water, this is a great book to prep you for the joys of your soon-to-be breast feeding journey!
I strongly encourage you to look into this definitive guide. Currently it is on its 8th edition and continues to add research backing up that key phrase: Breast is best!
