Do Doula's Replace Dad?
Some Fathers and Mothers are worried that their Doula will take the place of Dad (or their partner).
Special involvement of Daddy will be pushed into a corner as a more experienced, perhaps more knowledgeable Doula takes charge.
This isn't the case!
Doulas are here to support your role Dads! We don't want to take over, we want to add to your knowledge and facilitate your helping hands throughout your child's birth. We understand that some things may seem over your head, but that doesn't mean you can't be the very support and rock your wife (or partner) needs.

I want to help you, just as much as I want and need to help your partner.
I can help by:
- Answering your questions
- Allowing you rest
- Helping you, Help her: just because I know the techniques doesn't mean I can't or won't teach you
How you can help Me
Things to Think On:
- You can help me understand what your partner needs the most, what helps her relax and give me pointers
- By being willing to learn, I want you to have the most fulfilling Daddy Day; I want to help you be involved to whatever extent you wish.
Things to Think On:
- Would you like to cut the chord?
- Are you okay with blood/bodily fluids?
- How do you hope to be involved?
- If an emergency ensues (such as an emergency c-section); how will you continue to be a support?
